As they swing open, they fold in half in the middle, so needing about half of the space to open. Installing this type of gate requires care and accuracy and is generally more complicated than a swing or sliding gate.
Existing manual gates can be converted to automatic gates, however, some alterations are likely required such as rehanging gates to level them, installation of guideposts and straightening of fence posts.
